Unlocking new companions in Disney Dreamlight Valley often leads players through intricate story quests filled with unique environmental puzzles. During "The Great Blizzard" quest to rescue Olaf, players encounter a major puzzle inside a secret chamber within the Frosted Heights. Solving this challenge requires finding specific gemstones and placing them on designated pedestals in a precise order.

Required Gems for The Great Blizzard Quest

To restore the secret chamber's magical energy, players must collect three distinct types of gemstones: Amethyst, Citrine, and Emerald. These stones work alongside the crafted Dreamlight Prism to activate the dark portal and progress the storyline. Gathering all three gems beforehand saves considerable backtracking through different biomes across the valley.

Where to Mine Each Needed Gemstone

Finding the exact mining locations for each gem is essential for completing the quest efficiently. Amethysts can be obtained by mining rock spots in the Frosted Heights or the Forgotten Lands. Citrine is mined from rock nodes located in the Sunlit Plateau and the Glade of Trust. Finally, Emeralds can be gathered by mining in either the Forest of Valor or the Glade of Trust.

Correct Pedestal Placement Order

Once you return to the secret chamber in the Frosted Heights with your gems, arranging them in rainbow order is the key to solving the puzzle. Place the Amethyst on the front-right pedestal located next to the red Garnet gem. Next, insert the Citrine on the middle-left pedestal positioned between the red and yellow gems. Finally, set the Emerald on the back-right pedestal to complete the full color sequence and activate the portal.

Completing the Secret Chamber Portal Quest

After placing all three gemstones and the Dreamlight Prism on their correct pedestals, interact directly with the flickering portal. You will be prompted to speak one of your deepest fears into the portal to retrieve the stolen items. Fulfilling this final interaction grants you Olaf's missing arms along with the restored Orb, successfully concluding the puzzle phase of the quest.
